My new Guest Designer is the Dynamite Jana!

Hi, I’m Jana Dee. I am a mom to 3 girls (2 teens and an 11 year old). I am married to a great guy. He makes me laugh and keeps me connected to reality. Because I need it.

I don’t have an art background. No formal training. I wasn’t allowed to take art classes in school because my parents steered me toward math and sciences. I have an engineering degree, but switched over to finance because the engineers where I work travel for months at a time, and I like being home with my kiddos. Although, now that there are 2 teenage girls, maybe I should rethink that whole traveling thing. Just kidding. I love my life. Most days.

I have ALWAYS loved to make things. My husband and I share a creative space. We converted the formal living room and dining room into his Hobby Room (he makes model airplanes) and my Studio (I make really big messes). So he kind of “gets me”. Cutting and glueing are in my blood. I can be found on any given night with inky fingers, or paint on my arm, or glitter on my forehead. My kids have grown to accept this. Sometimes they even play with me. I love it when they do. I am not the world’s greatest artist just waiting to be found. I create things because I love it. I really love it when I can create useful things.

This week I picked a card. Because they are fun to make, beautiful things and they are useful. Win-win-win.

Yahooooooo Jana!!!!!  What a FUN challenge and sheesh, could it get any cuter with a cupcake and the color orange, I don't think so:)
