a couple of words about the new {double} word verification...

Okay...onto super serious stuff here...

I know that I'm not alone in the frustration in the new {double} word verification that seems to have hit blogger:

I am not a robot.
I am just someone that wants to leave you bloggie

 With well over 1,000 blogs in my Google Reader, I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of word verification.

{True story, my DD asking me why I was squinting and turning my head funny...YUP, I was trying to decipher the letters on a &^%$ word verification...at this point, I'm thinking anything will help in trying to figure them out...LOL}

I absolutely LVE my time checking out blogs full of inspiration....but have strong opinions on word verification vs. comment moderation.

Don't even get me started on using my Google Reader via my phone...ugh, I could not begin to imagine what a nightmare THAT would be with this new verification system.  This is where I should insert that I do a majority of my blurfing on my iPod touch...like alotta blurfing....

So here's the deal...
  • Do you know that you have word verification ON?
  • Why not switch to Comment Moderation
  • Check HERE on how to Turn OFF word verification.  {{big shout out to the FAB ladies of Freshly Made Sketches for their post about word verification!!!}}
Have other concerns about turning off your word verification?  EMAIL me...let's chat about it.

I could seriously go on and on about this but for the peeps that do NOT use Word Verification High Fives !  Not a fan of the new double word verification?  Squak about it...maybe with paper crafters uniting on this, Blogger will do something about it...

Thanks peeps...getting off the 'ole soap box now....

I agree, I use my iPod a lot as well. I end up not leaving a comment because it is to much work. I do not use either form of moderation and have never gotten any spam. Even if you did it can be deleted, so no big deal.

I hated word verification to begin with. It now takes me about 3 tries to get the words right. I am at the point where I am ready to say FORGET IT and just stop leaving comments on those blogs. I don't allow anonyomous comments and it seems to work fine.

I APPLAUSE too.. I have just written about this double word verification on group I belong. I said I would not comment anymore when this word verification is on. I love my time commenting on blogs, but I feel frustrated to PROVE I am not a robot. With regards to spam, I have comment moderation, and they go directly into SPAM space on my blog. Thank you for putting my thoughts in such kind wording... I have a terrible french accent when I write in english!
Have a beautiful day. Hugs.

I am glad to see this and just read about how to turn it off via another blog I read. I updated mine last night. I wasn't aware of how I was set up. Now I am set up like I prefer!

I feel the same way... It is very annoying.. I hate leaving a comment then having to jump through hoops just to have it published..

I need to check my own settings! I would hate to think I whine and complain about others' blogs, and then find out my own is so irritating! Thanks!

I agree! I have the comment mod on (and hopefully, don't have the word verification...I better go check to make sure)! LOL And it does take a few tries for me to get the word verification correctly when I get those on blogs...I don't like it either!

Got to agree with you Amy, absolutely hate it - as a dyslexic reading can be difficult enough without giving me yet more hoops to jump through. I find that comment moderation works fine for me. Can't think why Blogger thought it necessary to introduce an extra word for me to struggle over ... just another of life's mysteries! Elizabeth x
